Friday FoosFun
Monthly Drug Abuse Prevention and Awareness Event
Saratoga High School & Peer Advocate Advisory Council (PAAC) Santa Clara County Office of Education

Since December 2022, on the first (Blue) Friday of every month, we hold Friday FoosFun!, a stress-relieving get-together during which students engage in friendly competitive sport, partake in a bit of sweet refreshment (chocolate dominates but jelly beans find their way), as well as small giveaways, including positive message stickers, stress reliever toys, multi-color pens and more! During the event we introduce three new posters that contain important messages about substance abuse prevention, addiction management and overdose prevention. Posters are created by our team, as well as in collaboration with the lead therapist at the Wellness Center, as a part of the Emotional Intelligence Series. We also display SAMHSA Tips for Teens Factsheet with different topics, Naloxone, Fentanyl Test Dip Cards, and the instructions. The intention is to encourage peers to make informed and healthy choices.

Friday FoosFun! is the brainchild of Ryan Lin, a member of Peer Advocate Advisory Council (PAAC) Santa Clara County Office of Education, who has initiated this school-wide project at the Saratoga High School/Los Gatos School District through working closely with the principal. All posters and refusal skill tri-fold brochures are of Ryan's design.
